SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Shockwave therapy (or Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy) is a non-invasive treatment for conditions such as plantar fascitis, tennis elbow, shoulder tendinitis, scar tissue pain, and more. A handheld device is used to deliver high intensity ultrasound waves, called shockwaves, to the affected area.

Shockwave therapy works by stimulating the body’s natural healing process by increasing blood flow, promoting the growth of new blood vessels, and stimulating the production of collagen.

Our machine is low intensity, making it more comfortable and more affordable. Research shows it is equally effective as more high intensity machine found in some podiatrist and medical offices. This new technology is a non-invasive and safe treatment option, with few reported side effects. Our patient’s typically describe the way shockwave therapy feels as “being snapped by rubber bands”. Treatment takes about 10 minutes long. Depending on the condition and it’s severity, typically 4-6 visits are recommended, spaced 1 week apart.

A focused exam is necessary to determine if this treatment is appropriate. Book by calling us at (303) 683-9494 or scheduling online.
